Visit visa

A visit visa is best suited to travelers planning a leisure trip to Australia. It is also appropriate for people visiting relatives or friends in Australia. 

Visitor visa (subclass 600)

1. Tourist stream (apply in Australia)

Foreign nationals who desire to visit Australia for the sake of tourism or seeing friends or family, but not for business or medical treatment, can apply under this stream. You can stay in Australia for a year with a visit visa. A person who already has an Australian visa that is about to expire may apply for this visa. 

1. Tourist stream (apply outside Australia)

   Foreign citizens residing outside of Australia are eligible to apply through this stream. You can visit around to meet your friends and relatives. You can get a visa for 3, 6 for 12 months according to your desire and need.

• Business visitor stream

If you intend to visit Australia for business purposes and remain for up to three months, you can apply under this stream before the expiry of your visa you can enter and exit Australia as many times as you want.

• Sponsored family stream

If you have an Australian citizen or permanent resident family member who is willing to sponsor you by paying the Australian security bond, you can apply for a visiting visa via this stream for up to 12 months to see your family members. 

• Medical treatment visa (subclass 602)

if you need to go to Australia for medical reasons such as obtaining a consultation, supporting a patient who already has an Australian visa, or donating an organ, you can apply for this subclass 602 visas. 

Electronic travel authority (ETA)

If you are a foreign national from one of the mentioned countries, you may apply for an ETA, which is connected to your passport and grants you permission to enter Australia and do business. With ETA, you are not allowed to work.

Bridging visa

If your existing Australian visa has expired and you are waiting for a new one, you should apply for a bridging visa to avoid staying in Australia illegally. 

Bridging visas allow you to stay in Australia while your visa application is being processed or as you await the quotation or merits review. 

It will also have a defined travel time. You can also opt to leave Australia and return to your country on a bridging visa during this period. If you are still in Australia after your travel time expires and need to go outside of Australia, you can apply for another bridging visa.
