Canada Issues Record 7,000 Invitations in 7th Draw of Express Entry 2023
Are you planning to immigrate to Canada? If yes, then here’s some exciting news for you! The latest Express Entry draw held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on January 18, 2023, issued a whopping 7,000 invitations, setting a new record.
This draw is the all-time highest number of invitations issued in a single round by the IRCC, beating the previous record of 5,500 invitations. Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were invited, and the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 490.
This draw is significant as it breaks the trend of program-specific draws that have been the norm in recent months. Since the last all-program draw, there have been four program-specific rounds of invitations, with three for PNPs and one for FSWPs.
It’s worth noting that the number of invitations to apply (ITAs) increased as the minimum CRS score decreased. Before 2023, all Express Entry draws were all-program draws, and over 1,000 candidates were invited each time.
If you’re planning to apply for Express Entry, then you must know that candidates between the ages of 20 and 29, who score 100 CRS points under the Comprehensive Ranking System, received 64% of the 114,431 ITAs issued in 2021. As a candidate turns 30, they are awarded fewer points.
It’s also worth mentioning that while the majority of ITAs were issued to candidates living in Canada as temporary residents, some were issued to candidates living abroad.
