You need a minimum of 65 points to be eligible to lodge an Expression of Interest, but invitations are competitive. For popular occupations, scores of 75–90+ are often required for subclass 189, while state nomination (190) or regional (491) can help with lower scores.
Common ways to add points include achieving Superior English (IELTS 8 / +20), completing a Professional Year, a NAATI community-language credential, gaining more skilled experience, state nomination (+5), or moving to a regional area (491, +15).
189 is fully independent PR with no sponsorship. 190 requires nomination by an Australian state or territory and grants PR. 491 is a 5-year regional provisional visa with a pathway to PR. We help you choose and target the right one.
